Introduction
This course provides students with good practical knowledge in a wide area of many aspects of piling operations.
What does the course include?
The NVQ covers the following units:
- VR 01 – Conform to General Workplace Safety
- VR 02 – Conform to Efficient Work Practices
- VR 03 – Move and Handle Resources
- VR 235 – Contribute to Piling Operations
- VR 402P – Slinging and Signalling the Movement of Loads
- VR 299P – Plant and Machinery Operator Maintenance
- VR 390P – Operate Plant and Machinery to Construct and Form

Why do I need it?
The NVQ is linked with the CPCS scheme for piling rig operators whom must achieve it in order to gain a CPCS blue card.
What qualification do I get?
For those who successfully complete the course you will be awarded a CAA NVQ level 2 certificate.
What can I do next?
This qualification allows the candidate to achieve craft status in this occupation. The 2 routes within the qualification give the candidate a future option of completing the other route if they cover the work on site to meet the necessary evidence requirements to achieve the route.
Where can I train?
The training can be delivered on your site whilst you carry out your daily duties as a land drilling engineer.
