V1 NVQ Internal Verifier Qualification

Course Overview

You need some experience as an Assessor and you need to be working with an NVQ Approved Centre before you can achieve your V1 Internal Verifier (“Award in Conducting Internal Quality Assurance of the Assessment Process”) award. There is a 12 Month Rule under which you cannot be awarded your V1 until you have 12 months experience of assessing.

Our V1 course is one day discussing the various parts of the Internal verifier role, studying the “NVQ Code of Practice” with emphasis on those parts which govern the work of the IV and the role and powers of the External Verifier, examining the “Joint Awarding Bodies Guidance Notes on Internal Verification” and its advice on good practice for IVs and Approved Centres, and relating all this to your own occupational area and your own Approved Centre’s procedures and documentation. We also go out on-the-job with you to carry out some monitoring of Assessors which is a major part of the IV role.

If required, we offer advice on procedures and documentation (usually to try to simplify them !), and we provide you with a framework portfolio which explains step by step exactly what evidence is required to complete your V1 qualification.
